Work night criteria calls for easy and preferably without a trip to the store. Hatch Chile Skillet Cornbread delivers.

Raul’s Fresh Mango Salsa Fresca

September 25, 2020 By Jen

A bowl of Raul's Fresh Mango Salsa Fresca with cilantro, tomato and lime in the background.

Salsa was a first on Avi Pie, that’s because salsa isn’t just any salsa, it’s Freddy (a.k.a Raul’s) salsa. Basic ingredients: Mango, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, serrano pepper, lime, salt and pepper. In a not so basic recipe: Like a child grows watching a parent shop for ingredients, unpack, then tastes while hopping and helping into…

Saffron Rice with Cabbage and Golden Raisins made into a rice dome.

Remember the days when a record skipped? We’d stop, walk, lift the needle and move one mila but within the same groove? Hello and Welcome!

In these pages you’ll find vegetable dishes to savor and sustain along with dessert recipes to gather around or share with neighbors, co-workers, or anyone in need of extra love.

A word on altitude, I’ve cooked and baked at both sea level and in Lake Tahoe. Many recipes aren’t affected by elevation, but if they are, I’m sure to note the difference within the ingredients.

We love to share, so thank you for stopping by because along with my husband Dave and our dog Rainey, each recipe is a thrill and therapy in creation. I hope the feeling comes through in every post and especially bite.
