Chilled Peach Basil Soup

August 8, 2020 By Jen

Too many peaches? Is there such a thing? I didn’t think so, but eyes widened larger than hands could make. Over a month, we swung by and picked up a couple flats from a favorite peach farm. We give, gather, eat, bake, then towards the end a handful of peaches got gushy. What to do?…

Chocolate Blackberry Shortbread

A close of two rows of cut Chocolate Blackberry Shortbread bars

May I introduce you to dad’s favorite square. One bring and this easy to make dessert scored “smash” status. With years of squares in hand, I take liberties with topping ingredients. A plate of Berry Balsamic Spinach Salad

Simple but not so. After blaze’, one bite of Jan’s Strawberry Spinach Salad and this classic, revitalized. Spinach, feta, berries and balsamic — served on the side, for lunch or as a main, I needed the nitty gritty. How exactly did Jan make her summer salad this good?

Hello and Welcome!

In these pages you’ll find vegetable dishes to savor and sustain along with dessert recipes to gather around or share with neighbors, co-workers, or anyone in need of extra love.

A word on altitude, I’ve cooked and baked at both sea level and in Lake Tahoe. Many recipes aren’t affected by elevation, but if they are, I’m sure to note the difference within the ingredients.

We love to share, so thank you for stopping by because along with my husband Dave and our dog Rainey, each recipe is a thrill and therapy in creation. I hope the feeling comes through in every post and especially bite.
