Home Cooked Mexican Rice with lime and avocado in the background

// My mom’s serious about food, especially Mexican Rice. One bite sends me packing or showered in affection. I’ve experienced both but for you, a recipe of admiration. Stand out Mexican Rice begins with toasted long grains and a myriad of spices. Accent with the perfect amount of sauce then simmer to a fluff. A healthy chop of cilantro,…

Me and my lost and found wedding band

Twenty one years ago… We got engaged at Multnomah Falls. I wasn’t used to wearing a sparkly ring so while washing my hands, would set it on the counter. I made sure to put it back every time, except once. While working in sales, this man pointed to his ring finger and asked “is the…

Lemon Garlic Hummus

Lemon Garlic Hummus with a cracker topped with some and a lemon in the background

This hummus proves—less is more. When making a stand alone and serve hummus, I add more ingredients. When layering into a sandwich or on snack crackers, I keep the recipe simple. We had plenty of crackers, but with the mix of garlic, lemon, and sea salt—ate the rest with cucumbers or I could be found…

Hello and Welcome!

In these pages you’ll find vegetable dishes to savor and sustain along with dessert recipes to gather around or share with neighbors, co-workers, or anyone in need of extra love.

A word on altitude, I’ve cooked and baked at both sea level and in Lake Tahoe. Many recipes aren’t affected by elevation, but if they are, I’m sure to note the difference within the ingredients.

We love to share, so thank you for stopping by because along with my husband Dave and our dog Rainey, each recipe is a thrill and therapy in creation. I hope the feeling comes through in every post and especially bite.
